OPDE begins construction of a new 6.9 MWp solar farm in Hothfield, UK

3 November 2014

The plant is located near the village of Hothfield, near Ashford (Kent), and it represents a total investment of over £7 million.

The new plant in Hothfield adds to the 8.9MWp solar farm in East Sussex, a project announced in October. In addition, in April this year, construction of a 12MWp plant began in Alresford, Hampshire, which confirms the Group has an active and successful UK development pipeline.

The solar farm will generate enough electricity to provide for 1,850 homes and avoid the emission of 62,300 tonnes of CO2 during its lifetime.

OPDE is on track to meet its objective of connecting 100 MW of photovoltaic capacity by March 2015.
